A Kingdom Entrepreneur’s Prayer for Early Alignment and Impact
“Oh, satisfy us early with Your mercy, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.” Psalm 90:14
I had the most amazing prayer and meditation session this morning that I thought would be a good idea to share with you all. While praying, the Lord dropped the above scripture in my heart and He led me to pray it for my husband, daughters and of course myself. That we would always recognise and align with our individual purposes on time, and be positioned for both opportunities and challenges in their right seasons, so that every milestone is not only achieved, but meaningful and enjoyable.
“It is good for a man to bear The yoke in his youth.” Lamentations 3:27
The “yoke” can mean many things, from skill development to, funding, scaling, challenges, losses, ANYTHING! The prophet Jeremiah is reminding us that there is value in submitting early to learning, discipline, and even hardship, understanding that “… it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” (Hebrews 12:11, NIV)
But there’s a balance to this, we cannot just pray for early learning and training without also praying for timely reward. I know it probably sounds prideful to do so but the truth is it isn’t. Moses understood this that was why he wrote that psalm “Oh satisfy me early Lord…” He saw what 40 years of wandering did to the Isrealites and perhaps to him to … yeah i get it that it wouldn’t that taken that long if they obeyed God, Moses knew this too and that was why he used the word “mercy”. He understood something deeply human: that timely results strengthen the soul. Solomon corroborates this in Proverbs 13:12
“Hope deferred makes the heart sick, But when the desire comes, it is a tree of life.”
The importance of this prayer to me as an entrepreneurs cannot be overstated. It shapes my thinking and expectations. I refuse to play “religious”, working and learning hard without also being intentional about timing and setting milestones. I’m sorry, but i don’t want to be like Caleb who saw and even tasted the promised land at 40 but experienced a 45 year delay as a consequence of collective alignment. Again that might have sounded insensitive of me, but can i really chew agemawo at 85???
Say this prayer with me if you also see the importance of early rewards to alignment and hard work:
“Lord, grant me speed.
Give me clarity of purpose early. Help me see what You see, hear what you hear, and understand my assignment without confusion or delay.
Give me the ability to conceive ideas early, ideas that solve real problems, create value, and make people’s lives better.
Teach me to innovate with precision and execute with discipline, so that I do not sit on potential or delay what You have placed in my hands.
Remove every form of delay, whether self-inflicted through fear, doubt, or overthinking, And separate me from every association that would delay my access to the rewards You have prepared for me.
or external through resistance, distraction, or lack.
Train my eyes to recognise opportunities in their right season. Free me from the weight of past successes that make me complacent, and past failures that make me hesitant. Let nothing from my past blur my ability to see what You are doing now.
Break every attachment to familiarity and comfort. Give me discernment for seasons, and the courage to adapt accordingly – to know when to pivot, when to stay, when to build, and when to tear down.
Train me to face challenges early, when my strength is still fresh, my mind is sharp, and my will is strong. Help me to label them correctly: not as obstacles, but as training grounds. Teach me to see them as You do, as an opportunity to grow, refine, and rise.
Give me a teachable spirit. The grace to remain humble enough to learn, and vulnerable enough to be corrected.
Let every experience, good or bad, build me, sharpen me, and move me forward, never stagnate me.
Let me grow, scale, and prosper in good time. Bless the work of my hands so that I become a steward of wealth early. Using it to maximise my impact and serve humanity fully while I still have the strength, the capacity, and the clarity to do so. Not when I have become old and gray, and too tired to build.
Teach me to number my days, and to live intentionally. To be present and to wisely enjoy the life You are giving me per time – my body, my family, my work, and my money, while I am still able to truly enjoy them.
Satisfy me early with Your mercy, Lord, so that my life is not just long, but impactful, purposeful, and deeply fulfilling.
Amen.”
